All About Colored Contact Lenses

Where did colored contacts originate?

Films such as the Chronicles of Riddick and twilight have elevated colored contacts to such a level that suppliers of mirrored contact lenses and vampire contact lenses can hardly keep up. There are basically three kinds of
colored contact lenses that are available in the market today and they are
categorized based on the amount of tint they contain visibility, enhancement
and opaque color tints. The purpose
of the visibility tint colored contacts is to provide better visibility to
the user and not to change eye color since the tint, either blue or green,
is very light. On the opposite side of the range are the opaque
color tints which are purposefully used to change eye color using solid
patterns of colors that are deeper in tint than the visibility type color
contacts. The enhancement tint type lies in between it does
not change eye color since the tint is translucent but is has solid color
tints.

Most of the colored contact lenses are not corrective in nature but there
are also those that are manufactured with corrective powers for astigmatism
or for those that need prescription glasses with bifocal needs.
The Food and Drug Administration has regulated the issuance and use of
colored contact lenses since they have been found to pose risks of blindness
and certain injuries to the eyes. You can no
longer buy color contacts without the necessary doctor’s prescription. It is also
not advisable to share contact lenses with others whether they are colored
or not because this may cause bacterial transmission.

Why would vampire contact lenses be more expensive than an ordinary colored contact lens?

There are several reasons why color contact lens is more expensive
than the regular contacts. Additional expenses for
color contacts come from added research done by manufacturing companies.
Tinting the contact lenses is also an added expense during production and
because they manufacture lesser quantities of colored contact lenses versus
regular ones, the economies of scale are not the same.

What color options do special effect colored contact lenses provide?

Changing eye color is the most
dramatic way of changing your look. When manufacturers produce
colored contact lenses, they make it a point that you will still be able to
see with the color change and that the change will not be drastic but more
natural. This is done by only tinting the area where the iris is located
and the pupil area is kept clear for visibility. Just like
other cosmetic changes, there are disadvantages to these kinds of contacts.
When you blink, for instance, there is a possibility that a portion of the
colored area may move toward your pupil causing portions of your vision to
become blocked or blurry. Depending on the varying light available, the
pupil sizes change specifically enlarging during nighttime while the clear
area allocated for pupils of these contacts remain constant. You will
experience minor vision problems during these situations. Whatever the
situation, always consult your doctor before trying contacts.

Natural Relief for Oak Pollen Allergies

Oak allergy sufferers who live in South Texas are well aware of the large quantities of pollen that oaks produce and the symptoms that result. The pollen pods, which resemble little fuzzy worms, release the pollen into the air to be carried by the wind and the pods accumulate on the ground.

During the oak pollen season, the effects of the pollen are everywhere, with cars and windows covered with the orange-brown film the pollen creates. Even pavement where the spent pollen pods accumulate will get stained brown. Those suffering from oak pollen allergies can experience severe reactions. Massive sinus drainage, watery eyes, sneezing, and/or coughing will develop that can defy almost any allergy treatment available, at least until the oak pollen subsides.

Severe oak allergy reactions can motivate sufferers to turn to every remedy they can think of, including drastic measures like sterod injections. Some will decide to handle the situation once and for all by starting allergy shots, even though the needles are less than pleasant, without realizing that it often takes years to finally get results.

Many oak allergy sufferers will seek out natural relief from treatments like nutritional supplements, herbal remedies, homeopathy and/or acupuncture, and all of these forms of treatment will provide some degree of temporary relief for the majority of people. But what if there was a way to do more than just suppress allergy symptoms?

But what if there was another way to deal with allergies that gets rid of the problem long-term as seen with allergy shots, but gets results in days and doesn’t require getting stuck with needles repeatedly? There is in fact a way to accomplish this using “energy medicine” methods.

The most widely-practiced of these natural allergy relief methods is NAET, which stands for Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique. Dr. Devi Nambudripad is a chiropractor and acupuncturist from California who accidentally discovered how stimulating specific acupuncture meridians while being exposed to the allergens one reacts to can reset the body so that it no longer reacts to those allergens.

Since NAET was first developed in the 1980’s, other similar techniques have been developed that are more streamlined, but NAET is still the most popular. All energy-basd allergy elimination techniques are definitely strange and can seem like they are too good to be true, but in eight years of practicing Allergy and Sensitivity Elimination and Reprogramming Technique (ASERT), a newer, more efficient version of allergy elimination based on the underlyng principles of NAET, I have found it to be extremely effective on even the most severe and chronic of allergy sufferers.

Because these techniques are so strange and because I practice in San Antonio, an area where a high percentage of the population is still extremely skeptical of alternative medicine, I do the allergy desensitization on people and let them experience the results before they pay me. I use the honor system with regards to the allergy elimination procedure I use in my office – I do the full allergy elimination procedure and patients pay me after the fact when they are satisfied that the treatment was effective for them. The vast majority send me checks or call me with a credit card number, which I thik is a dramatic testament to the effectiveness of this technique.

The great part about these techniques is that the results occur quickly. In the case of seasonal allergies like those to oak pollen, symptoms may be severe for weeks at a time, so allergy sufferers seek out some form of natural allergy relief that takes effect quickly, rather than a treatment approach like allergy shots that can take years to be effective, and rather than treatments that have potentially serious side-effects such as steroid drugs. Energy-based allergy elimination provides relief within a day or two and does so without the risk of side-effects.

Better yet, the effects of energy-based allergy elimination last for several months to several years because these techniques actually get rid of the allergies, not just suppress allergy symptoms and inflammation. So, oak allergy sufferers can usually go through multiple oak seasons without any problems without ongoing treatment after going through the allergy desensitization.

Although NAET practitioners often claim that the effects of NAET are permanent, which they may be in some cases, it has been my experience that allergies can re-develop, particularly after somone is sick with a cold or flu, or suffers a major trauma during a high pollen season. It appears that the body may develop allergies in a “guilt by association” manner in which an activation of the body’s immune system and inflammatory response from something other than pollen may become associated with the presence of a given allergen, thus triggering a reaction to the allergen. In other words, if you catch the flu during a time when oak pollen is high, it is not unusual to develop oak allergies.

In any case, energy-based allergy desensitization is very much for real, and it offers fast, effective natural allergy relief for oak pollen allergies, as well as any other type of allergy (including airborne allergens, foods, and skin-contact allergies).

More Than One Way To Get The Best Deal On Airfare

Look around. That is how you find the best deals on airfare. There are several places to check, including travel agents, travel websites, and even an airline office. Of course, you will find the most information on the web.

Through the Internet you will discover airlines you have never heard of as well as all the major airline fares. It is the simplest way for the airlines to display their best deals and also to get more customers. The special deals are posted when the flight is announced or at the end when the flight is still practically empty.

Another way to take advantage of online airfare retailers is by purchasing from travel sites that buy tickets in large quantities. When this is the case, they want to get rid of all the tickets as soon as possible. Therefore, they will be willing to lose a bit of profit to dump all the tickets before they become obsolete. Also, a lot of this is based on chance. The chance involves the date and time, since there is no regular schedule. So, if you do not find cheap airfares within a couple weeks check back again and you may notice the prices have been reduced dramatically due to the scheduling.

The most important action for these websites is to sell as many tickets as they can so they make more profits. With the online competition these days you will see lots of advertisements for several different online retailers. It certainly does not hurt you to check more than one retailer. Because of this, you are sure to see cheaper tickets and varied pricing depending on the dates you choose.

Also not all is not lost if you want to travel only on a specific airline as there are still ways to save. When you getting airfare quote ask if coming or going a day before or after your trip will save you some money. If you want travel on weekdays instead weekends, the savings will usually be worthwhile. You may pay more for the hotel, buy even if that equals your savings you will come out ahead. Why? Because you will spend that extra time enjoying a foreign country instead the time you will lose sitting on your couch and watching TV.

One more tip to offer is trying to find connecting flights. These usually end up being much cheaper than direct flights. This allows the websites to use the cheapest airline throughout each step of the trip, instead of using the cheapest airline at only one airport. This is nice especially if you are taking an extended flight as you will want to take a break anyway!
